Boggy's Buddies
Meet the Team
Meet the people who curate the magic behind the scenes!
We could not help animals in need without the help of each and every one of our volunteers. Thank you for everything you do!

Founder
Kelsey M.
Kels is a Milwaukee-based animal lover and the founder behind Boggy's Buddies, with a passion for the outdoors, a growing stack of books, and a house full of animals she adores. When she's not running the rescue, you'll find her kayaking, hiking, or camping with the people she loves most. She has two cats, Merlin and Doc, and a dog named BamBam, who keep her more than busy at home. She once spent a summer in Africa, has fostered over 100 animals through various rescues, and is now channeling all of that passion into growing Boggy's Buddies right here in Milwaukee.

Foster Coordinator
Eliza L.
Eliza is a Sheboygan-based animal lover with a serious drive, a great eye for art, and an impressive passport. When she's not coordinating fosters for Boggy's Buddies, you'll find her logging miles for her first-ever Ironman, hunting down the best coffee shop in town, or painting. She has a dog named Astro and two hedgehogs, Tiny and Basil, who are probably her biggest fans. She lived abroad in Ecuador for three years, speaks four languages, and is recently engaged. We'd say she has a lot to celebrate! We're so lucky to have her on the team.

Fundraising Coordinator (2)
OPEN POSITION!
As our Fundraising Coordinator, you'll be the creative force behind Boggy's Buddies' financial sustainability, brainstorming and organizing events, campaigns, and partnerships that keep our rescue running. From bake sales to online fundraisers, you'll help us turn community generosity into food, supplies, and vet care for animals in need. No prior fundraising experience required, just enthusiasm, creativity, and a big heart for exotic animals!

Intake Coordinator
Justis K.
Justis is a Cudahy-based animal lover with a creative soul and a heart that has always been in the corner of animals. When she's not coordinating intake for Boggy's Buddies, you'll find her writing, making art, or doting on Wing, Oliver, and Rye, her trio of cats who collectively have her wrapped around their paws. She has a background in both veterinary and human medicine, five siblings, and a longtime passion for animal advocacy. She joined Boggy's Buddies because she believed in what we were building, and we're so glad she did!

Intake Coordinator
Trish S.
Trish is a White Plains-based animal lover with a creative spirit and a deep appreciation for nature. When she’s not helping with intake for Boggy’s Buddies, she enjoys making handmade fabric flowers, experimenting with nature photography, reading, and playing little puzzle games on her phone. At home, Trish has a 15-year-old orange tabby named Blondie, who she adopted as a kitten and absolutely adores. She was first drawn to Boggy’s Buddies through our focus on exotic animals and the genuine care behind the rescue. We’re so happy to have her on the team!

Donation Coordinator
OPEN POSITION!
As our Donation Coordinator, you'll manage the flow of in-kind and monetary donations that make everything we do possible, from tracking our wishlist to organizing supply drops and thanking our generous donors. You'll work closely with fosters and coordinators to identify what's needed most and make sure nothing falls through the cracks. If you love staying organized and get excited about spreadsheets, wishlists, and making a tangible difference, this role is for you!

Social Media Coordinator
Cassandra H.
Cassandra is a Milwaukee-based animal lover with a soft spot for cats, a passion for staying active, and a heart that's always rooting for the underdog. When she's not coordinating communications for Boggy's Buddies, you'll find her thrifting, logging miles on a run, or cuddling with her two cats, Peeksy and Pumpkin, and two dogs, Myla and Elsa. She's been vegetarian for nearly a decade, has crossed the finish line of three half marathons (with a full marathon on the horizon!), and works as a medical laboratory scientist by day. She was drawn to Boggy's Buddies out of a genuine love for animals of all kinds, and we're so glad she's here!

Communications Coordinator
OPEN POSITION!
As our Communications Coordinator, you'll be the keeper of our supporter relationships, crafting and sending newsletters and email updates that keep our community in the loop on adoptions, upcoming events, and everything happening at Boggy's Buddies. You'll help turn one-time donors and followers into long-term advocates by delivering consistent, engaging content straight to their inbox. If you have a knack for writing, an eye for layout, and love keeping people connected to a cause they care about, this role was made for you!

Transport Coordinator
Beth B.
Beth is an East Troy-based animal lover with a soft spot for wildlife, nature, and exotic pets. When she’s not helping with transports for Boggy’s Buddies, she enjoys reading, spending time with family and friends, and volunteering at a local wildlife rehabilitation center during the summer months. Beth first found Boggy’s Buddies through Facebook and was especially excited to see a rescue that cared for hedgehogs. Her own hedgehog, Nula, recently passed unexpectedly and is still deeply missed, but she hopes to rescue another hedgie someday soon. We’re so glad to have Beth as part of the Boggy’s Buddies family!
